Daily Stoic video the other day and he happened to mention this quote above by Viktor Frankl and it really spoke to my heart. We cannot change many of the situations we have been encountering during the pandemic, so what can we do? We must accept the “challenge to change ourselves” to move forward.
I was listening to Ryan Holiday’sThis sounds easy but it can be very difficult, but what is the alternative? To stay where we are and be miserable, frustrated and angry, or depressed. These are all real feelings and I am not discounting their place during this time.
What we need to realize is there is something that we can do that is positive, good, and healthy for us. Viktor Frankl was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist as well as a Holocaust survivor he spent three years in concentration camps. He took this horrible time of his life and learned each day from its experience. Viktor then went on to write “Mans Search For Meaning” which is a life-changing book.
Viktor has so many wonderful quotes that strike a heart cord during difficult times. These times are challenging but we are strong. Keep accepting the challenge!
Take care and stay safe,
Tina
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
~ Viktor Frankl
