Happy Tuesday to you all! A few years ago when I was very new at blogging a fellow blogger somehow found my site and began leaving me comments. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to have interaction with a fellow blogger. Of course I went to his blog and began to follow him. I knew right away that this writer had a lot of experience with being a manager, the content in the articles that he posted were full of excellent management wisdom.
His blog was called Manage Better Now, I am sure some of you may remember it. One interesting fact about this blogger is that he remained unknown to his readers because he wanted to be able to share about things from his workplace and held a position in a high-profile company.
Almost two years ago, July 11, 2012, he posted a blog stating that it would be his last post. He was finishing his book, and felt life was calling him in a different direction. I can tell you that I am not the only one who posted a comment on how much he was going to be missed. His daily inspiration to us meant a lot and we were sad that our connection with him was going to end.
Every so often I would return to his site to see if by some chance he had written anything. Then a couple of months ago when I paid a visit I was delightfully surprised that he posted that his book was finished and available on Amazon. I immediately purchased it and have enjoyed each page. It has 100 ways that we can manage better.
In the forward of the book he lists the name of Carl Cogdill with an email address. After I read the book I wrote to him asking if I could share about the book on my blog. I was so happy to receive an email back, not only giving me permission, but telling me that he remembered me. As I read through the book I realized that not only is this book one for every managers library but if you are in a leadership position or a trainer this would be a great book to use as a teaching tool.
I hope that one day Mr. Cogdill might consider blogging again, but only time will tell. Until then, I have a great book full of wisdom and tips for the manager that I will keep up front on my bookshelf. The link below will take you to Amazon where you can purchase his book.
